Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
JTech ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Provauto mobile application and the provauto.app website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our services.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Provauto is designed as an offline-first application — your vehicle data stays on your device by default, and we only collect the minimum information necessary to provide our services.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: Free users do not need an account — no sign-in is required. If you purchase Premium, you sign in via Firebase Authentication, and we collect your email address and display name. Sign-in is required to verify your purchase and enable cross-platform and cloud sync features.
- Contact form submissions: When you use the contact form on our website, the form opens your default email client — we do not operate a server that receives form submissions. We only receive the information you choose to send via email.
1.2 Vehicle Data
- Local storage (default): All vehicle data — including projects, timeline entries, photos, mileage readings, and cost records — is stored locally on your device in an SQLite database. We do not have access to this data unless you enable cloud sync.
- Cloud sync (Premium): If you enable cloud sync, your vehicle data is encrypted in transit and stored securely in cloud infrastructure to enable backup and multi-device access. You can disable cloud sync or delete your cloud data at any time.
1.3 Automatically Collected Information
- Crash reports: We use Sentry to collect crash reports and error diagnostics. This includes device type, operating system version, app version, and technical details about the error. For signed-in users, an anonymous user identifier is linked to crash reports for support purposes — no email address or name is sent. Crash reports do not contain your vehicle data, photos, or personal information.
- Usage analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregate usage data — such as which screens are viewed and which features are used. These events contain no personal information, vehicle data, or photos. Analytics collection requires your consent and can be disabled at any time in app settings. Analytics help us understand how the app is used so we can improve it.
- Website analytics: Our website loads fonts from Google Fonts and icons from jsDelivr (Bootstrap Icons CDN). These services may collect limited technical data (such as IP address) when resources are loaded. We do not use any other tracking or analytics on our website.
1.4 Payment Information
The Premium upgrade is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card numbers, billing addresses, or other financial information. All payment processing is handled by Apple or Google under their respective privacy policies. We use RevenueCat to verify purchase status across platforms — RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipt but does not receive your personal information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Provauto application
- Authenticate your account and verify Premium purchase status
- Sync your data across devices (if you enable cloud sync)
- Diagnose and fix technical issues via crash reports
- Respond to your support requests and inquiries
- Send important service-related communications (e.g., security alerts)
We do not use your information to serve advertisements, build marketing profiles, or train machine learning models.
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Local Data
By default, all your vehicle data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable cloud sync. Local data is protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, biometrics, encryption).
3.2 Cloud Data
If you enable cloud sync (Premium feature), your data is:
- Encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher
- Stored in secure, industry-standard cloud infrastructure
- Accessible only by you through your authenticated account
- Deletable at any time through the app settings
3.3 Security Measures
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
4. Third-Party Services
Provauto uses the following third-party services:
4.1 Firebase (Google)
We use the following Firebase services, all operated by Google and subject to the Google Privacy Policy:
- Firebase Authentication: Account management for Premium subscribers. Processes your email address and authentication tokens.
- Cloud Firestore: Stores your synced vehicle data (projects, timeline entries, settings) when cloud sync is enabled (Premium).
- Firebase Storage: Stores your synced photos when cloud sync is enabled (Premium).
- Firebase Analytics: Collects anonymous, aggregate usage events (screen views, feature usage). No personal information or vehicle data is included in analytics events.
4.2 Sentry
We use Sentry for crash reporting and error monitoring only. Sentry collects technical diagnostic data (device type, OS version, app version, stack traces) when an error occurs. Sentry does not capture screenshots, session replays, or performance traces. Personal information is scrubbed from crash reports before transmission. No vehicle data or photos are ever sent to Sentry. See the Sentry Privacy Policy.
4.3 RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and verify Premium purchase status across iOS and Android. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts from the app stores. It does not receive your name, email, vehicle data, or other personal information. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
4.4 Apple App Store & Google Play Store
The Premium upgrade is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple or Google. We receive confirmation of your purchase status but do not receive payment details. See the Apple Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.
4.5 Google Fonts
Our website loads fonts from Google Fonts. When you visit our website, your browser may connect to Google's servers to download font files. See the Google Fonts Privacy FAQ.
4.6 jsDelivr CDN
Our website loads Bootstrap Icons from jsDelivr, an open-source content delivery network. When you visit our website, your browser connects to jsDelivr's servers to download icon files. See the jsDelivr Privacy Policy.
5. Data Sharing
We do not:
- Sell your personal information to anyone
- Share your data with advertisers
- Share your vehicle data with third parties
- Use your data for targeted advertising
- Provide data to data brokers
We may disclose information only when required by law, such as in response to a valid legal process (court order, subpoena, etc.), or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.
6. Data Retention
- Local data: Stored on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. All users (Free and Premium) can back up and restore their data locally via file export.
- Cloud data: Stored while you have an active Premium account with cloud sync enabled. You can request deletion at any time. If you delete your account, cloud data is removed after a reasonable grace period.
- Account data: Retained while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.
- Crash reports: Automatically purged after 90 days.
- Contact form submissions: Retained for the duration needed to resolve your inquiry, then deleted within 12 months.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your vehicle data (all users can back up data; Premium subscribers can also export PDF, Excel, and CSV reports)
- Opt out of crash reporting (available in app settings)
- Opt out of analytics tracking (available in app settings)
- Withdraw consent for cloud sync at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@provauto.app. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
Provauto is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@provauto.app.
9. International Data Transfers
Our services are operated from the United States. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using Provauto, you consent to this transfer.
10. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at support@provauto.app.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by posting a notice on our website. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Your continued use of Provauto after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
