Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Provauto mobile application and the provauto.app website (collectively, the "Service"), operated by JTech ("we", "our", or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using Provauto, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Provauto is a vehicle ownership companion app for documenting maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and ownership history. The Service includes:

  • Free tier: Local-only vehicle tracking with limited projects and photos per project.
  • Premium tier: Expanded project limits, unlimited photos, data export (PDF, Excel, CSV), and cloud sync across devices. Premium is a one-time in-app purchase.

We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes.

3. User Accounts

Free users do not need an account. Premium users sign in via Firebase Authentication using an email magic link. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Account deletion permanently removes your cloud data and cannot be undone.

4. In-App Purchases

The Premium upgrade is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. By completing a purchase, you agree to the terms and pricing displayed in the store at the time of purchase.

  • Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly. If a refund is granted, your Premium access will be revoked.
  • Restore purchases: You can restore a previous purchase on a new device using the "Restore Previous Purchase" option in the app.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create in Provauto, including vehicle projects, timeline entries, photos, and notes ("User Content"). By using the cloud sync feature, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of your User Content. We do not monitor, review, or endorse User Content.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Circumvent any access controls or usage limits
  • Use automated systems to access the Service in a manner that exceeds reasonable use

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, graphics, logos, and documentation, is owned by JTech and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, brand features, or other proprietary content beyond what is necessary to use the Service.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Vehicle data entered in Provauto is user-generated and we make no representations about its accuracy or completeness.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, JTech shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty US dollars ($50), whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JTech from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app and, if applicable, deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnification) will remain in effect.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Maryland.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by posting a notice on our website. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last revised. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
